Election Day 2006

What happened? In 2006, the same people who voted overwhelmingly against gay marriage and civil unions, put into office the very people who champion these causes! The contradiction is very difficult to understand or explain regardless which side you are on. I know in Colorado, several measures on our ballots designed to restrict freedoms and raise taxes passed with ease! I recall while watching news coverage a man discuss the issues for which he had just voted. He told the interviewer that the first time he had even read the issue was in the election booth just then. It is irresponsible to try and conjure an opinion on the spot without knowing before hand all of the informed pros and cons. Word of advice… your ballot is not void if you skip an issue or politician you don't know about. Vote informed, or don't vote at all. It appears as though the one thing you don't need in order to vote in this country is brains.
