Okay, so here's the deal. The left, in an attempt to reduce the US carbon footprint and to save "fuel" has proposed limiting the speed limit to 55 mph. The gas saved and the carbon reduction will be minuscule compared to the lost revenue that will be involved with the slower speeds. We are a commuting nation. Our commerce takes place over vast miles and it is imperative that we get products and services from one locale to another as quickly as possible. Dropping the speed by 20 mph will have a huge negative effect on the overall economy.
Not to mention the torture it will create having to drive at that speed across Kansas. Yikes!
Another feel good idea that when examined, hurts more than it helps.
